Description
This is our Tesla-compatible connector with cord and microchip, but without a plug. Our Tesla tail is perfect for the DIY’er, ready to add your own plug! Please select from the available amperage options and we will program the adapter according to your selection prior to shipping. We recommend selecting a setting that is no more than 80% of your outlet’s rating. Please do not buy this product unless you have experience with electrical assembly or will have a professional perform the assembly.
Wiring instructions: There are three wires: black, white, and green. The green wire connects to the ground terminal of your plug. The black wire connects to “hot” and the white wire to “neutral.” For 240V applications in the US, connect the black wire to “line 1” and the white wire to “line 2.”

Thank you again for making this connector! Having the ability to hard wire in my UMC saves the cost of the plug and eliminates a source of potential failure 🙂
You rock!

Seems odd that it’s missing end end yet costs the same as adapters with 2 ends. But hey, I wanted it 😉

Very good product. The wires are terminated and easy to fit in your male plug when you install it. Used for EU plug 5 pins red, working great.

I purchased one and realized it comes with 3 wires only (black, white and green). No red wire for 240v. How is this supposed to work with a 240v NEMA plug? Called support and he told me with tesla charger, 3 wires is enough/no need for red. Tried that and obviously it only bring 110 v to the vehicle. Anyone has a better answer/explanation?

Hello Stefano, Sorry about the miscommunication – our agent provided the connection instructions for using a 110v plug. If you’re using a 220v plug, the wiring is the same except that the white wire should connect to one of the “hot” terminals instead of the neutral. With most 4-prong 220v plugs, you’d want to connect the black and white wires to the far-left and far-right terminals respectively, and leave the neutral terminal disconnected.
